The LTO-NCR has started filing criminal cases against colorum operators who continue to operate illegally in the metropolis.
LTO-NCR Regional Director Roque “Rox” I. Verzosa III disclosed that Atty. Andrew Pilotin, accompanied by Enforcers John Philip Matia-Ong and Raymond Roy Bodoso, personally filed the case at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Caloocan City on Monday.
Verzosa warned that other colorum operators will face the full force of the law for their illegal activities.
“Hindi po titigil ang LTO-NCR sa hangarin na ito na maparusahan ang lahat ng lumalabag sa batas lansangan,” he said.
On the orders of LTO Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza, an intensified campaign against colorum operators was launched, targeting unauthorized vehicles operating without the necessary permits.
The campaign aims to enforce stricter regulations and penalties to ensure compliance with transportation laws and enhance road safety.
Mendoza emphasized the importance of eliminating colorum vehicles to promote fair competition among legitimate transport operators and ensure the safety and convenience of the commuting public.
